International News: US President Donald Trump said negotiators have left for Russia to discuss a possible ceasefire with Ukraine, days after Zelensky agreed to a 30-day ceasefire. However, the US President did not give further details about the negotiating team.  Trump told reporters in the Oval Office during a meeting with the Irish Prime Minister that he hoped he would be able to reach a ceasefire agreement with Russia. Vice President JD Vance, who was present at the meeting, said that in the next few days there will be talks with some of our representatives over the phone and in person.

It is up to the US to persuade Russia

Earlier, President Trump said he hoped Russia would agree to a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine, while President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday called it a positive step and said it was up to the US to persuade Russia to accept it.

I hope President Putin will agree too.

US and Ukrainian officials held talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to discuss ending the three-year war between Moscow and Kiev, with the meeting indicating acceptance of a 30-day ceasefire. Shortly after the announcement in Jeddah, Trump said that Ukraine had agreed to a ceasefire some time ago. Now we are going to Russia and hopefully President Putin will also agree to this.

...and people will die

In another video posted on his Truth social account, Trump said that if we can get Russia to agree to do this, that would be great. If we can't, we will keep doing this and people will die. He also talked about meetings with Russia soon, which could include a trip to Moscow to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.

If Putin agrees, ceasefire will be implemented immediately

President Zelenskyy said the US side understands his country's arguments and considers its proposals and added that he is grateful to President Trump for the constructive dialogue between our teams. Hours after the announcement from Jeddah, Zelenskyy said Ukraine is ready to accept the proposal.  The Ukrainian president said that during today's talks, the US side proposed an even bigger first step: a 30-day full interim ceasefire that would stop missile, drone and bomb attacks not only in the Black Sea, but in the entire border region.
